Working for Socio-Economic
The Jum Foundation is a local non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2003, headquartered in Rangamati within the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. Following the 1997 CHT Peace Accord, local development workers founded the organization to capitalize on new opportunities to rebuild and develop the region.
Because the NGO is managed by local people who understand the unique geographical features and cultural nuances of the CHT, their primary mission is to build the confidence of deprived and marginalized communities. They focus heavily on bringing rural populations—especially women—into the social and economic mainstream.
